This looks complicated - is it a manual change? Is there a way of avoiding this complexity?

It's a manual change and it's what Claude suggested. It looks ok to me, didn't cause any new errors (we use _flow in couple places) and it looks similar to suggestion in flow changelog: https://github.com/facebook/flow/blob/main/Changelog.md#02320

Is there a way of writing the type only once and using it in a couple of places?

Used suggestion from flow changelog (more readable) and reused types.
